Recap: Yankees vs Tigers game 2

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

Again the Yankees win a game to even their record and bring up their avg to .500. This is a real roller coaster season for the Yankees who always find themselves in and around the 500 water mark. Hopefully they will crack out of it shortly.

A Yankee victory evens the series at a game a piece. The final score of the game 5 - 2 Yankees, Rasner pitched pretty well giving up only 2 runs in six innings pitched. The turning point of the game in my opinion was when Bobby Abreu doubled in the 5th inning to score Jeter home. This gave the Yankees a 2 run lead over the Detroit Tigers and eventually winning the game but not before Mariano Rivera got his 10th save of the season.

Recap: Yankees vs Tigers Game 1

The Yankees scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th one run away from evening up the game. It all came to an end when Shelley Duncan flied out to center field with a runner in scoring position. Well it was a close came. The turning point of the game in my opinion came in the bottom of the 4th inning when the tigers scored their 6th and final run. That run ended up being the difference for them to win the game and beet the New York Yankees by a score of 6 - 5.
